Neon in November

Yep, Neon in November...and as you can guess from the title of this post, I am around four days late in publishing this outfit post. But, life got in between! Well, for those of you who follow me on Instagram, you might have already seen this outfit. I got a such a wild response on the IG pic that I decided to go ahead and do an outfit post on the blog. I tell you, sometimes the outfits I post on my IG feed outshine those I post on the blog. (One of these days, I feel like doing an IG outfit blog, but the pic quality is not up to the mark so, I am a little hesitant to pursue that idea.)

Anyways, back to the outfit! It was one of the warmer days in November that I decided to don my bright neon tunic. Keeping in mind the dull winters, I paired it with a black blazer to cover up the in-your-face-flashing colors. Regular denims and booties completed the outfit. The tunic is one of my finds from the famous bargain markets in Bombay - Crawford Market. It's right in the heart of the city, buzzing with hawkers,shoppers and lots of activity. You get such fabulous things there for dirt cheap prices, I tell you! And it's just not clothes, you have accessories, shoes, home decor things, kitchen and plastic furniture items, spices, cloth market...you name it and they have it!

P.S.: The title of the post could very well have been - Street Shopping Finds! I snagged that neon necklace from another of my fave shopping joints in downtown Bombay - Colaba Causeway. It's the Holy Grail of street shopping in the busy city and it's right beside the famous Taj Mahal Hotel and the Gateway of India. You have to visit Colaba Causeway if you are in the area.

Summer oh summer!

Neon tee and denim shorts make a comfy n peppy combo and this is exactly what I wore on our road trip to Ocean city, Maryland. Incidentally, it was also my first long drive after getting my US driver's licence. So, I was quite pumped and looking forward to the adventure, you see! And thankfully it went really well. I think driving on a highway is a totally different ball-game, the speed, changing lanes, highway traffic..phewww!

Well, we needless to say we safely made it to Ocean city :) Ocean city is a cool relaxing place couple of hours from Washington, DC. There is nothing much to sight-see  which is a huge plus! 'cause that is exactly the kind of place I want to go to unwind and relax. Ocean city has miles of pristine beaches, a board walk with yummy fried food & ice creams and cool bars n crab shacks. It definitely makes a perfect getaway for a 2/3 day weekend.
The crab shacks remind of me of the ones in Goa, no show-sha just the real crabby stuff, chilled beer and beachy sand beneath your feet. (More on crabs and my very first experience with actually eating a crab in another post).

Well, leaving you to enjoy the pics. I love the back drop; the hotel's pool area overlooked blue waters & grass...so pleasing to the eyes. These pics make me miss summer so very much..summer oh summer, come soon will ya?

Neon is sooo On!

Theme of the day, month, this season – tadaaaaaaaaaaaa…its Neon!!

Neon pink, Neon green, Neon orange, Neon yellow – Neon on everything and in every store!! and I couldn’t resist picking up a neon pink tee and add a bit of Neon to my closet. 

Neon pink looks great with blue denims but I thot of giving it a quirky twist (like wearing neon pink wasn’t quirky enough for me!!) by pairing it with aqua blue jeggings and voila!! Wat a cute combo..this is gonna definitely perk up my low mood days..

I did another neon look with a relaxed pair of shorts ..funny thing about the neon green tank , found it hidden in my closet – I had picked it last spring while shopping for our vacay to Puerto Rico (more details on the vacay coming sooon!! I promise) I was hunting for a closet essential – black tank and American Eagle had the perfect one. Incidentally they were running a deal for 2 tanks, so along with the blank tank, the neon green got yanked from the pile… and friends, that’s how I met this neon green tank J

Back to the outfit, adding the the brown vest was a total last min decision and I think it’s working very well..
